Toddler Thank You Cards

28th February 2015      Sarah Burns      12 Comments

As Emma turned one earlier this week we made some thank you cards. I have written before about the cards we make to say thank you, and I was keen for Emma to have *some* role in creating them.

toddler thank you cardsI had a few different ideas but decided to go with a bit of paper tape and paint. Emma doesn’t have many words in her repertoire at the moment but she does say ‘ta’. I therefore got some card (A4 card halved then folded in half again) and with the paper tape spelt out ‘ta’.

I put some poster paints in a paint tray and gave Emma piece of sponge dipped in the paint and let her loose with the paint. I had fully expected she would do one or two then get bored, but she was really into it and had lots of fun rubbing the sponge all over the cards.

Once the paint had dried I peeled away the tape and I was pleasantly surprised witoddler thank you cardsth the final result. I think they look pretty impressive given she is only one! I then wrote inside the cards (trying to avoid the various splashes of paint inside) and they have now been distributed.

This was really easy to do and I am sure we will be doing some more cards and art works using this method.

I’ve made a few lots of thank you cards now, you can take a look at them here and here.

What a great idea, very personalised, especially as TA is a word she says and I bet she had fun making the too.
