I’m on a roll with clearing my WiPs this week and have finished a third one, Edward the Kingfisher.
This was a kit by Purple Rose Embroidery that I bought whilst on holiday a few years back from a gorgeous craft shop in Cromer. I started it last autumn but I think the evening light probably wasn’t as good as I needed so have picked it up with the better evening light.
This is such a lovely kit and the colours and super vibrant, as you would expect for a kingfisher. I really enjoyed the varied number of stitches included in this one and it gives a lovely texture to the overall design. The stitch guide was great with information about colours, stitch used and a numbered section guide on the design to make locating each part of the project easy.
The kit included a pre-printed cotton panel, needles, a stitch guide for the design as well as a general stitch guide to explain the different stitches. there’s also ample threads card that are all DMC and are presorted. I was amazed at how generous the threads were – more than enough and plenty to add to stash once completed.
At the time of writing, kits aren’t available as the creator is on maternity leave, but PDFs are available here via Etsy.
