As part of my completing WiPs purge this week I, finally, finished this gorgeous design from Tales from The Hoop. I LOVE foxes and have a fair few items around the house that I have stitched and this hand embroidery design from Marion at Tales from the Hoop is one of a series.
I first came across Marion’s lovely designs when I stitched the Kingfisher Lake design for my mum a year or two ago. It was so lovely to work on and my parents ended up buying me the Owl in the Pines kit for my birthday. I stitched this up and finished the hoop by covering in a yarn that matched the colour of the sun. I then went on to purchase the PDF pattern for Woodland Fox and Harebells.
Transferring the pattern is easy enough to do and the instructions for stitching each part are really clear and come with images to really help you to see what you need to do. There’s a good range of stitches included and the detail is really effective. I think these designs would be achievable be beginners too.
Buying embroidery designs at the moment feels increasingly difficult with the proliferation of AI designed projects, projects that you could never recreate hand stitching. Marion has an Instagram feed and all her designs available on Etsy show the finished stitched item, rather than a computer generated mock up. This is really important and key to helping you see what is a real and achievable design versus AI generated slop.
