Designer Spotlight – Little Loops & The Old Barn Stitching Co

I come across so many wonderful designers when I’m perusing the internet and Instagram, so I thought I’d try and collate them as best as I can into features here, as much for my own benefit as anything else!

I am also so so tired of seeing endless AI dross, so hopefully by sharing some authentic designers, I can help people find good quality designs that aren’t going to post problems when they come to be stitched.

First up I thought I’d share The Old Barn Stitching Co, which also might be known as Little Loops.

Who are Little Loops & The Old Barn Stitching Co?

Sami, the designer behind the brand is Yorkshire based and is one of the names behind Big Stitch Events which has recently taken place. Sami designs under the Old Barn Stitching Co name but you can find her designs, and more stitchy goodies on her website Little Loops.

What’s The Design Style?

I first came across Sami’s designs where I saw the lovely Animal Companions series, and the fox (obviously!) took my eye. I have a nosey at her site and there are some absolutely gorgeous designs. As well as cutsey animal designs there are more traditional sampler designs available too.

If journaling your stitching is your thing, they Sami also has some lovely stationery items too that complement a lot of her patterns, as well as being usable on their own as part of your stash.

How can you purchase the patterns?

Sami offers both digital download and physical patterns and prices are as low as £4 for a pattern with the average price around £6. The patterns include DMC and Weeks Dye Works floss so you can choose which works best for you. I really love the animals designs and the fox, deer and rabbit are particular standouts.

Sami also offers 17(!) free patterns on her website, which is super generous and there’s a wide range of designs available within that.

Where to find Sami

You can find Sami and her designs in the following places:

Have you stitched any of Sami’s designs, and which is your favourite?
