This week has been about picking out some old WiPs to try and get some finished so I can make starts on some newer projects. I actually don’t have too many outstanding cross stitch projects, just 3/4 larger ones that I swap in an out in between the smaller ones.
One such project was the Jan 2023 Broderie and Colour Box from Tom & Lily.
Who are Broderie & Colour Box?
Broderie & Colour are based in France and run by Melanie. They include beautiful one off designs stitched with hand dyed threads and onto hand dyed fabrics. The linen that came with the Snow Deer was stunning and such a joy to stitch on and the flosses are just lovely to use too, and more than enough to complete the design.

What’s in the Box?
The box includes:
- Full colour design
- needle
- hand dyed linen
- pre sorted hand dyed floss
Stitching the Design
This design was lovely to stitch, the fabric is really high quality and is wonderfully soft and easy to use. The flosses too are lovely and glide through the fabric easily, rarely tangling and the overdyed floss effect is really good. My only slight bug bear was that some of the design is marked incorrectly, with the wrong symbol used. It’s not a major issue and I just followed the colours rather than the symbols. It proves, at least, that the designs are made by humans and it wasn’t an overly complex pattern so it wasn’t difficult to manually correct.

I haven’t yet fully finished this one, but will likely look for an oval shaped frame and display at Christmas time, swapping out some of my summer themed designs.
