The last twelve months have led us to appreciate different things in many different ways. Here are some of the things I am grateful and appreciative for this year.
Technology
This is the biggest thing for me – technology has enabled Damian to work safely from home and has allowed us to stay connected with family and friends. Zoom sessions with the children’s friends have been a real lifeline for us and chatting with my parents via zoom and sharing mobile video and pictures has been great in maintaining connections.
Comfy Clothing
I know it’s the cliche that sales of things such as Thread & Supply ladies loungewear have gone up during the last twelve months, but having comfortable clothes has been needed! Adventures on local canal paths or in local woodland areas have been great and comfy clothing to wear whilst scrambling up trees has been brilliant. It’s also been nice for those lazy film afternoons in the winter to get snuggled into a big oversized jumper and just relax with the children.
Crafting
I’ve rekindled my love of crafting these last few months and that has been a great way to keep myself distracted from other things. There’s also something nice to commemorate the last year and to remind ourselves that, despite the difficulties, there have been positives too.
Local Suppliers
Local suppliers have been key to keeping us all safe. Things as simple as fresh fruit deliveries or local wholesale meat suppliers have meant that fewer of us have had to venture to supermarkets and the such. It’s also been nice to support the smaller and more independent shops during this time who might have otherwise struggled to stay afloat.
Key Workers
And finally, we should all be thankful to those in key worker roles. Those who are carrying on with the day-to-day of keeping our country and facilities running where they can. Places such as Savaria keep things ticking along in the background, ready for when we can reaccess life as we once knew it.
