The Yellow Jersey

No… I’ve not taken up cycling and entered myself into the Tour De France…. I have instead made it to five weeks of my local Sweatshop Running Club, and with it gained my yellow running top.

I’m really pleased that I have made it to five weeks. This week I headed out with a different group for a longer run. Lots of it was uphill but I was pleased I persevered and managed to run up the majority of it.

I’m really enjoying running at the moment – I find it helps to clear my mind and leaves me feeling refreshed. I picked up some running tops from Decathlon at the weekend which I’m finding really comfy to wear in the hot sticky weather we seem to be having and I’m so pleased with my progress.

I’m also pushing myself further and faster each week. The past two Sunday’s I have beat my 5km personal best (Current PB is 30:51) and my longest run so far is 9.70 miles (around 15.5km) which I did last week.

I’m pleased that I am managing to get out and run as much as I am, and I think the SRC really helps with that. It’s such a lovely supportive community and I’m glad that I live close to one which makes it possible for me to join in. I’m noticing such big improvements in my fitness each time I go out.

Next week when I join up with the SRC I will wearing my yellow top with pride.

    Congratulations! I was a runner. Well I am a seasonal runner. Sometimes I am so into it and a lot og times I am not as I cant find time. Or maybe I am just full of excuse. But whatever my reason is I know its hard so again congrats for this amazing running journey =) #picknmix

    wow well done! I used to enjoy running but my hips are still sore even walking after having SPD in my pregnancy. We live near a beautiful lake I would love to be able to go for a run around. Thanks for linking to #PickNMix
