I have always been a fan of wearing clothes for comfort rather than for some fashion ideal; I’ve never been on to follow the latest fashion trends. For me, comfortable and practical clothing is the way to go and so it has been a staple of mine for many years now.
This has been the case even more so since having the children. I don’t want to be restricted by my clothing, so wearing comfortable leggings and trousers means I can get on the floor to play and read with them. Comfortable clothing means I can scramble up and down embankments with them when exploring dens and trees without being hindered by clothing that restricts movement. I don’t want my children to be restricted by their clothing, so I shouldn’t be either.
Embracing Loungewear
There was an article earlier this week about how retailers are seeing increasing sales of comfortable loungewear – and one of my favourite loungewear items are these fab co-ord sets from Femme Luxe. I love a good hoodie and joggers and these are absolutely perfect. Super soft material and just so comfortable to wear.
Black is a staple in any wardrobe – I am sure most people own a black jumper! I love coordinating with the lilac which I think is a lovely fresh colour – perfect for summer evenings when the weather is cooling down. I’m hoping as the route towards normality continues we can have a couple of evenings out enjoying a drink at a local pub or cricket club, so having something that is practical to wear on a walk along the canal but dressy enough to call in for a drink is the perfect combination.

Let’s face it, we haven’t had many ‘going out’ occasions recently, and with it, I think people have embraced comfort a bit more. There have been clear ‘stay at home’ messages and so people have been doing just that. I’m not sure that now we have had a taste of everyday comfort we are quite as willing to move away from it!
