Little World Builder – World Structures Edition

Ad – gifted items

We LOVE Little World Builder here, and the children thoroughly enjoyed their first set of subscription boxes back in 2019/2020 time. I wrote about them here. When the team contacted me to see if would like to review their new World Structures boxes I jumped at the chance.

We have been receiving these for a while and they coincided with Damian being in hospital and general covid type stuff so they did sit for a little time. I have wanted to keep them for when we had a natural lull in our work and, over the last week or so, we have got around to building all the boxes that we had. I think there is one more in the collection to go, which we should get next month.

What is Little World Builder?

Little World Builder is a subscription box that takes children around the world to experience iconic buildings and structures. In the world structures edition, you see a Dutch windmill, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Statue of Liberty and the Great Wall of China.

Each box comes with a postcard from Hailey and Caesar – the travelling friends who explain about the structure in a fun way. There’s also scrapbook pages to collect with even more information on as well as a short activity booklet which usually includes a quiz, word search, spot the difference and a maze. There is, of course, the 3D structure to build as well as an accompanying activity such as to paint a jigsaw puzzle, colour in a set of playing cards or dig for Ancient Chinese weapons.

Why We Love Little World Builder

When out bright yellow Little World Builder boxes arrive the children are really excited and I have had to hide them away so they haven’t badgered me. They really do LOVE making these boxes up.

I would say they’re better for children 7+ as some of the structures are a little tricky to put together. That said, the instructions are really clear and D can pretty much manage these on his own now, only really needing my help for the really really tiny pieces. The other two children work on the accompanying craft activity and they all do the enclosed activity pack. There’s something to keep all three of them occupied.

What I especially love about Little World Builder is that the quality of the structures really is excellent. We have had our original set for a long while now and they’re still in excellent condition. They’re touched and looked at regularly and have been used on part of our projects over time too. I think the final one is a Mayan pyramid, and this will link to work I plan to do on the Mayans later this year.

The enclosed activities are fun too and add value and the information cards are really good. I also like the little toolboxes in which we have kept everything to refer to again in the future.

Who Do I recommend Little World Builder to?

I think Home Educators will get a lot of repeat use from a Little World Builder subscription, and it has been, without a doubt, the best subscription pack we have had over the last few years.

I also think children from around 7+ will really benefit from this subscription box and I think even going into the teenage years there will be a lot of love for Little World Builder. The 3D models are truly excellent and really set this subscription apart from any other I have had; the models have lasted well and are much loved here by all the children.
