Enjoying an Online Spa Party With Friends

Just before the official lockdown, one of my friends had arranged a Neals Yard Party at her home. With the uncertainty at the time it was postponed and, given the continuing situation it was run as an online party event on Friday evening.

I think sometimes, as mums and parents, we can be pretty bad at putting ourselves first. I know that when the children are in bed, and I have time to myself I see all the other things that need doing, the cleaning and ironing, the clothes to sort, the floors to hoover or the work to do. I think about the home ed prep I should be doing and I get on with that, instead of taking time to look after myself.

I used to head to the gym or for a run, and that was a great way to clear my mind, but now that’s a little bit harder. Having an online spa party was definitely a great way to reclaim some time for me!

How the party works

Tracey who ran that event is a consultant for Neals Yard Remedies and she really knows her stuff. Just before the party she sent all the guests a little pamper pack which included the various bits and pieces we would need as well as a lovely herbal tea bag. On the day of the party, we were sent the zoom codes and asked to bring along a bowl of warm water, a face cloth and to light a candle and get a drink to enjoy.

We dialled into the zoom call and it was so lovely to see friends! Tracey explained a bit about Neals Yard and how she would run the party. She then explained the different samples that we all had and explained why a good skincare routine was useful. We were first talked through an exfoliation technique, then used an amazing moisturiser (seriously good!). We then used a facial oil (one of my regular skincare products as it leaves me skin so soft) before finally applying eye cream and a cooling moisturiser.

Talking Products

The whole party was lovely and it was great to spend the time chatting to friends as well as testing out some lovely products. I have various Neals Yard products and use them regularly, but to be shown how to use them properly was a great experience and I know that at least once a week now I’ll be treating my skin to a proper facial! It certainly made a big difference as my skin has felt lovely and soft all weekend and I’ve not had to use my usual daily moisturiser. Tracey also sent me a sample of the Rosemary and Cedarwood hair treatment that I used last night and I can’t believe the difference in my hair. It’s not been cut for ages so was very dry at the ends, so much so I’ve been tying it back every day for a couple of months now. Today, after using the treatment, is the first time I’ve left it down! I’m really impressed so that’s on my next order.

After the Party

After the party Tracey answered any questions we had about products that might be good for different things, and then shared a link for those who wanted to place an order. I’ve bought the hair treatment and the cleansing melt and got a couple of extra bits planned for a future order. The Neals Yard items aren’t the cheapest on the market but they’re really top quality and last for ages.

If you’re interested in hosting your own event (and you even get some free hostess goodies!) then do contact Tracey. It was a really lovely way to spend an evening with friends in these strange and difficult times plus I personally learnt a lot about getting the best out of the products to freshen up my skin!

This isn’t a sponsored post or advertisement; I attended the party and thought it was such a lovely way to spend an evening I wanted to share it here in case others are looking for an innovative and fun way to spend the evening, plus benefit from hosting a party by claiming some goodies.
