Making Birthdays Special
At the moment, it can be a bit tricky to make birthdays feel as special as we might want, but where we have had friends’ birthdays we have still tried to make birthday’s special for friends by sending video messages to them and the such. Orchard Toys have also got a fab range of cards that you can print and colour in to send to friends which have proven popular with my three. It creates a bit of a personal touch (and occupies your own children for a little time too!) Even the youngest children can get involved with adding colour and decoration to these cards. There are five to choose from (Unicorn and Dinosaur are hits here) and they’re super quick and easy to print out and decorate.
Gifts with long term appeal
We are BIG fans of Orchard Toys here and they are amongst some of our most played with games. We were lucky enough to be sent a bundle of new games recently and the children have been having great fun playing them. I like Orchard Toys because they have a real and genuine appeal across the age ranges, they’re always bright and colourful and engaging for the children. The game and jigsaw pieces are sturdy enough to withstand toddler hands (and they wipe clean well!) and happily, as well as being made in Britain, they’re plastic-free!

We have had great fun playing Giraffes in Scarves as well as the Big Dinosaur Jigsaw which H has been having lots of fun putting together with the help of his siblings. The dinosaur jigsaw is fantastic and has really occupied H, it was challenging enough for him to piece together as well as having lots of things included to discuss as he made up the picture. I really like this large Jigsaw and he’s already spotted some he would like for his birthday in a few weeks time.
Why Orchard Toys
We love Orchard Toys for all the reasons mentioned above and happily they don’t cost the earth. They’re super well priced and the games offer so much, from turn-taking, counting, memory, colour matching and learning letters and spelling. For the older children, they’re able to read the rules and set the game up themselves (I love watching them explain the game to H) They appeal to all three of the children and the bundle we were sent kept them occupied for a good while. The games are also short enough to keep them engaged, especially H who at three can lose focus as you’d expect!
The design of the toys makes them timeless and they’re the few toys that I save to pass on to others when they have children. Orchard also offer a Free Parts Replacement Service which is amazing! This enables you to get free replacement parts for the games. All they ask for in return is a small donation to their nominated charity (East Anglia Children’s Hospice) if you can. I only recently learnt this and it will be handy as we have lost one or two pieces over the years from a game or two. This ensures that the game can still be played.
We are working a lot on H’s speech at the moment and doing so in a game based way has been key for us. Orchard toys have been a real bonus to us for helping H develop his speech and I think this demonstrates the versatility of the games. they can be used in lots of different ways.
Great gift idea! My youngest son will be pleased. But with the eldest son, of course, it’s more difficult, recently we tried to write an essay that was asked to him. We honestly tried to write it, but realized that our strength was not enough. Therefore, we decided to order such a service as writing an essay.
