Springtime Bunting

A few weeks ago the team at Baker Ross sent me through a box of crafting supplies. The last few times I have made cards with them, and whilst I will be using the materials to make cards at some point, I had a different idea of what to do with them yesterday.

baker ross spring craftsI decided to have a go at making some springtime bunting, with the idea of using it to decorate my table for a birthday breakfast we were hosting today.

Using the yellow card that was sent through I made some triangles. I folded the card in half and was able to get six triangles from each piece of card. Daniel then had great fun sticking some Easter Bunny felt stickers on and adding some lovely pom pom flowers. The Stickers were a bit fiddly for Daniel to peel on his own but once I started them off he was fine with them.

Each bunting triangle had a flower and a sticker added to it and then finished with some glitter. I then ‘pegged’ them onto some ribbon. We did start to make some cards with the fabulous solid paint sticks which I love. We had the flourescent ones sent to us this time and they are brilliant – nice bold colours without the mess of paints. I didn’t manage to get any pictures of the finished creations as he was getting a bit fed up by this stage (we have all been full of colds this week).

The finished bunting looked quite nice along the edge of the table and it is a craft I will do again in the future with both Daniel and Emma to decorate the Easter table I think.

This afternoon after we had cleared up from the party and had a little snooze we made some glasses using a kit from Baker Ross. I wasn’t sure if Daniel would enjoy this or not, but he really did. It would be nice if you were able to personalise the glasses a bit, rather than have to do the design as per the packaging, but that said he liked sticking the various bits in place. Apologies for the poor quality of the pictures – I had to snap these on my phone whilst he was in the mood!

I can really recommend Baker Ross items for crafting with toddlers. They are brilliant quality and Daniel always enjoys using them. I can’t wait for the next few months when Emma is starting to join in too!

  1. This is a great idea. I think I will get Izzy to make some bunting to hang up when it’s her little sister’s birthday party. #toddlerapprovedtuesday

  2. Thats a brilliant idea. we have in our kitchen diner a line of string up on the wall with tiny wooden pegs to hang the latest pictures, over christmas we had a painting session and all the children made christmas pictures, we now have a few pictures have have come home from school and nursery and some home makes up there, but I love the idea of giving them all some triangles to decorate to make our own bunting.

  3. We have used Baker Ross at school but I wouldn’t have thought of ordering stuff for at home too. What a great idea. I love the bunting. Hope you are all feeling better. Thanks for linking up to #playathometuesdays
