Redesigning your bedroom is of great importance. It is a place where you relax, recharge and often have “me time”. Therefore, you must organise it accordingly and design to your taste. It’s handy to know some tips to arrange your bedroom because tidiness is key; and complements your design.
The first step in designing the space is deciding on the correct placement of the various furniture to make good use of the characteristics of the space. There are a number of factors that affect the location of the furniture, from built niches in the space, through the location of the windows to the area of walls in relation to the existing doors in the space. It is not always possible to get an ideal organization in the space and it is necessary to find the right balance between the furniture and the size of the space, so sometimes it is better to give up non-essential furniture to leave room for comfort.
Materials
It is not recommended to purchase a full bedroom set consisting of closets, dresser, sideboards and bed. Combining all of these together creates a heavy and old-fashioned look so the preferred option is to mix several items of the same style or shade to create a quiet and soothing harmony. Curtains are a very important part of refreshing your bedroom and they also have a practical role beyond aesthetic value. You can choose a curtain with two layers, the first layer is an opaque layer that allows you to darken the room if necessary, and the second layer is a decorative layer.
Paint shades
It is important to choose calm, quiet and pleasant colors for the bedroom, but you can also choose a bolder design than the rest of the house, a place where you can express yourself without anyone judging you. Remember that light colors convey a sense of space so it is best to choose them in case of a small bedroom or cluttered with objects.
Bedroom storage
If you do not have a built-in closet, place the closet on one side of the door so that it will not be the first piece of furniture you see when you enter the room. Large and uniform cabinet fronts have created a light and relaxed look, and today full-height doors can be installed from floor to ceiling. Bedside cabinets and tables are particularly helpful, and you can choose chests of drawers in different sizes and colors to match the overall design. Consider purchasing a floating shelf for added style.
Bedroom lighting
To design smart and comfortable lighting in the bedroom, choose a central light fixture for the space and additional perimeter lighting depending on the different areas in the room. It is recommended to equip the central lighting fixture with a dimmer to adjust the lighting. It is important to add light fixtures in different areas that need additional lighting like the dressing area and bedside reading lamps. For maximum comfort, place additional switches on the sides of the bed so that you do not have to get up to turn off the light before bed.
