Having two children close in age brings with it many, many benefits. It also brings with it a lot of frustrations.
Daniel is now at an age where he doesn’t understand about sharing. It is impossible to separate their toys and so whenever Emma picks anything up, Daniel can sometimes snatch it away from her and move it where she can’t reach. He does share after some discussion and often he will replace the toy with something that is hers.
We were sent a lovely book called Crunch! by Caroline Rabei and it is all about sharing! Crunch is a guinea pig who has more than enough food.
However, one day a hungry little mouse comes along and wants to share his food, Crunch doesn’t allow this and so the mouse leaves. It’s a lovely little story with bright bold illustrations that Daniel really understood.
It’s set out in an almost comic book style, and it’s a good book to read and add more into; you don’t only have to follow the words on the page. The pictures are lovely and clear and Daniel had a good giggle as Crunch set foot outside his home for the first time and went to search for the mouse.
This is a lovely book that shares an important message in an accessible, easy to understand way and it’s a book we have read time and time again over the past week.
