Ad – Gifted Item
Back in early January, H received a box through the post from Cureadosity. Cureadosity is a new book subscription service that was launched this year and I’ve been really impressed so far.
What is Cureadosity?
Cureadosity is from a husband and wife duo who recall trying to find brilliant books for their daughter, without relying on the usual big names and supermarket stand buys. These sorts of books are all well and good, but like me, they recognised that there are some real hidden gems to be found that just don’t get the exposure they deserve.
With cureadosity, they have aimed to create a fuss-free way for parents to get brilliant books to enjoy with their children.
What was in our box?
When our box arrived H was very excited to open it – I have some video here in on Instagram stories of him opening up the first box; as you’ll be able to see he was excited to get started and I really need a wee was the first book we enjoyed sharing.
I was impressed with the quality of the books; we hadn’t read any of them previously and they’ve all been read on a rotation regularly at bedtime with H.
The box also came with a print from a book as well as two activity sheets to complement one of the books (I really need a wee). These were a nice addition and was something I hadn’t expected.
The three books that we received in the first box were:
-
- I Really Really Need a Wee
- The Couch Potato
- Afraid of the Dark

What we thought of the books
H really liked the book included, as did I. Firm favourite was I Really Need A Wee – it’s funny and he really enjoyed reading this one. I also loved The Couch Potato and I need to check out the others in that series too; the message is simple but important. Afraid of the Dark is a beautiful book too and we have enjoyed sharing all three stories at bedtime together.
I was impressed with the books and even more impressed that, despite our vast collection of books, we didn’t already own any of them. It’s too easy to stick to the known authors and the books that appear at the front of shops. Branching out to the less well-known authors is always rewarding and I am glad that this subscription, like one I subscribe to for myself, champions those less well-known authors and provides three quality books for children to enjoy.
We have thoroughly enjoyed this box and were thrilled to (unexpectedly!) receive a second box this last few days – you can take a peek at what was included in this one here. If you want to subscribe you can use code UNBOX10 for a discount.

Sounds a good way to push the lesser publicised authors
