One of the things I do miss from my pre-children days is that ability to just go shopping for something, as and when I need it. It’s really hard work taking the children with me when I need new jeans, or a new coat and, frankly, it’s more hassle than it’s worth trying to get new clothes with the kids in tow.
The children, of course, find the whole thing boring and end up causing mischief and it makes the whole experience more stressful than it ought to be! I, therefore, tend to do much of my shopping online these days. I’ve been in need of a new waterproof winter coat to get me through the coming months, so when Simply Hike got in touch to ask me to check out their winter range I was keen to take a look.
I had a good look through their site, and they stock a huge range of things from snow boots and walking boots, gloves and scarves, camping gear through to things like coats and t-shirts and even an impressive range of ski goggles. I chose a waterproof jacket from North Face and was excited for it to arrive as my old coat wasn’t quite as waterproof as it once was.
I used to really dislike clothes shopping online but I find it much easier now and the Simply Hike website is clean and easy to navigate. I opted to order the medium size jacket, however, the sizing was on the generous size so I used the returns form that was enclosed and exchanged the jacket for a small size, which arrive quickly and, happilym, is a perfect fit. The returns process was very smooth and free returns are included (which, for me, is a huge plus when I’m ordering clothes online).
The North Face coat itself is well made and is super lightweight and perfect for popping on over a warm fleece top. The pockets are (thankfully) large enough for me to fit my phone in (which is a pixel 2XL so it is a large phone). It’s super waterproof as I found out recently whilst waiting for the older two to finish their Spanish class.
Despite walking around for an hour in the cold, wet weather I stayed pretty warm and dry and I like that the chin guard is really soft with a brushed knit lining – this really does make a difference as it feels much more snuggly when you’ve got the coat zipped right up.
I really like the Simply Hike site – it’s clean and easy to navigate and it saves me the hassle of attempting to go in store with the children and find them running off trying on all manner of clothes. Simply Hike has a huge range of items – and it’s well worth a check out of their ranges from ski equipment to camping gear – and it makes the whole shopping experience that much easier.
Simply Hike sent me this North Face coat in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
