If you’re anything like me thoughts are starting to turn to preparing for christmas, and I love these Christmas activity books from Buster and Michael O’Mara books. Perfect for keeping young ones entertained in the lead up to the big day and also great ideas for stocking fillers.
First up we have ‘ Where’s Santa? This is a brilliant book and straight away took me right back to my childhood and afternoons spent searching for Wally. It’s a great book or the whole family to while away Christmas Day evening. The scenes include a Christmas market, a ski resort the theatre and even a beach! It really is a lovely book and as well as searching for Santa there are other things to search for, including Elves and a host of things from the ‘checklist’ at the back of the book. I really do love this book, so much so that I have ordered a copy already for a Christmas gift. It is sure to bring hours of fun, and I know we will be using our copy over Christmas.
Another lovely book is the Christmas World of Stickers. This book is so colourful and already I am thinking about how we can use this book to make Christmas cards for family. There is so much to talk about in this book (which is always a bonus as it aids Daniel’s learning) and we will be starting to talk about the Christmas story now, as he becomes more aware of the occasions. There is space to decorate trees (which we will do before we go to choose our tree) and even space to design your own Christmas jumper! There are over 800 stickers in this book, so hours of fun to be had. I like that the stickers also have suggested page numbers on, makes it easier for me to find the ones that are best suited to each page as I am sure Daniel won’t want to work through it page by page! This is a really lovely colourful book and is one we will be using as we approach Christmas.
Now The Pretty Christmas Colouring Book is simply brilliant and another I have ordered as a gift. We are going to have so much fun with this. It is perfect as a stocking filler and the designs are so varied, from intricate snowflakes to stockings and lovely wintry scenes. What I love about buster Books colouring books is that quality of the paper – it is always so thick which means that ink doesn’t bleed through to the other side. This really does make a difference. There are some lovely illustrations to colour in, and we plan to colour these and use to decorate our windows and possibly Christmas cards.
Finally, regular readers will know I am a big fan of the grown up colouring books by Michael O’mara books. I am in love with the new square Christmas designs. There are there in this new series and I have had sight of the stunning Creative Christmas book. It is beautiful. It also has some fab ideas inside the sleeve for what you could do with the completed designs too. If you’re looking for a stocking filler then this really is it. It is a classy book which older children or adults would adore I am sure. I am going to be colouring some of these images in and framing for Christmas I think.
Can you recommend any great Christmas activity books to keep young ones busy?
*I was sent a copy of each of these books but words and opinions are my own*
