Back at Christmas time, I bought H come leggings from Claire at Princess and the Frock. I’d seen some of the children’s friends wearing them and, being a bit fed up of finding dull and boring clothes bought a couple of pairs – one bright yellow with Lions on and another Blue with hedgehogs.
H absolutely loves them – and will always choose these to wear when he spots them washed and ironed in his drawer. I’ve ordered him another pair in a space-themed design and look forward to them arriving. When he wears his lion ones he does like to roar around the house pretending he is a lion!
The items that Claire sells are all handmade by her and they’re absolutely fantastic. They’re really well cut and made – something that I know can be a bit of an issue with heavily patterned fabrics, getting them cut well so the pattern is visible can be a real art. H wears his leggings all the time if he can and they’re been well worn over the last four months, and still look as bright as they did when we first got them. They wash really well and iron well too. The fabric is a really super soft jersey.
Em has been desperate for a skirt for a while now – she has plenty of dresses but for some reason had her heart set on a skirt. When I spotted the narwhals skirt I knew I’d need to order one for her. Claire also sent us a matching headband – which Em was delighted with. The headband is a really nice touch and I’m sure I’ll be adding to her collection. Some of the plastic ones hurt her ears after a while, but as this headband is made from stretchy jersey fabric we don’t have any such problems.
Claire was super helpful when I queried the size of the skirts – Em is particularly petite and I wanted to check which age size skirt I was best to order – and helped me select the correct size. When it arrived Em was absolutely delighted! She wore it to her Uncle’s Roora ceremony and I can confirm that it is suitably twirly and the perfect party skirt for any five year old.
I really love the bright and funky fabrics that Claire has at The Princess and The Frock and the clothes wear and wash well and will last for ages. They’re really well crafted and are firm favourites with both the younger children. I have always cringed when I have seen children in clothes that don’t allow them to move freely – I don’t like to see crawling babies in dressed and skirts that don’t allow for movement, or that they get caught up in. I also really dislike seeing younger children in tight trousers – skinny jeans are the worst – and thankfully these leggings are super stretchy and allow H to move around freely and without any restriction – something important for his developing motor skills.
I love Harry’s leggings. We had a demonstration of the lion’s roar when he wore those leggings. Emma’s skirt is beautiful. She couldn’t wait to show us how it twirls.
