Like many children, my three have been busy finalising their Christmas letters over the last week.
It’s heartening that they’ve not really asked for a great deal. Harry wants a toy mouse, Daniel wants a magic set and ‘books, books and more books’ and Emma has asked for a Prince Eric doll and a few other smaller items.
We seem to be avoiding the big-ticket items so far which is good for our bank account! The children are content to ask for one or two small things. I’ve been busy gathering things as and when I have seen them, or adding items to our wish list for ideas for others to buy for them.
I think we are, more or less, sorted with our gifts, and it’s just the food shopping to do and one or two family gifts left to sort out which we will do over the coming weeks. The last real task for the children is to get their letters I the post to Father Christmas and then have the excitement of waiting for the replies to arrive.
Last year we sent our letters to the Royal Mail address but only received one reply. Whilst I appreciate the Royal Mail free letter, it was a bit tricky trying to explain why we only had one reply from Father Christmas…
Thankfully there’s a company that will help to take the stress away with a guaranteed personalised response.
Lap Land Mailroom offers to send a letter to your child (up until the 20th December), so it’s a great last-minute option if the Royal Mail letter lets you down as it did with us last year.
There are a few different letters to choose from on the site and each can be personalised with your child’s name and gift requests. When you select the letter you are then asked to input a range of information which helps to personalise the letter.
Once the information has been added, you get to see the personalised letter and then either edit or purchase it. There’s also the option to add an activity pack too (which might be a handy addition if you’re looking to keep children busy one morning!)
The letters look fantastic and are a great alternative to the Royal Mail letter, plus it keeps that magic well and truly alive for children. I like that there are a range of letters to chose from so, if like me, you have more than one child, you can choose them different letters each to really keep the magic going.
