It feels like better days are finally here, and we are hopeful we will get away for our planned break in a few weeks’ time.
The change in life over the last year and a bit has made us think about what we want from family holidays in the future years. One of the things that Damian has mentioned is looking into a motorhome. I know a few people who have motorhomes and love them and are always showing their pictures from trips (when they’re allowed!) and it’s definitely something that appeals.
Inspiration for traveling
One site I came across recently is that for Bailey caravans and motorhomes. Their news and events section is great for finding out about ideas and inspiration of where you might get to in your motorhome – the Brecon Beacons is one that is a stunning place to visit and would be amazing in a motorhome.
While simply looking at a map and looking for places you fancy going to and then a quick Google will throw up some great routes to take and enjoy, it’s choosing where to go first that’s likely to be the biggest problem!
We have a stay booked for North Wales (in a static caravan) and then hopefully another break away to South Wales. We hope to get another break or two away in the autumn, all things being equal, and a motorhome would certainly give us much more freedom to head off as we are able to.
Choosing your Motorhome
Choosing which is the right motorhome for you is really important, so make sure you take time to do your research. When you’re researching Bailey of Bristol caravans and motorhomes, they have a brilliant website, complete with their Virtual Showroom which allows 360 virtual tours of all the caravans and motorhomes in their current ranges. I’ve been busy looking at the motorhomes here and planning what life might look like if we had one.
You need to think about how many people will be traveling in the motorhome. For us, we would need one that would accommodate the five of us, and the Alliance Silver Edition 70-6 looks like the best bet in terms of berths and travel seats. A berth is the number of sleeping spaces a motorhome has whereas the travel seats refer to the number of seatbelted seats it has. A motorhome sometimes has a different number of berths and travel seats, so make sure you check both to ensure you have the right amount of beds and travel seats for everyone.
It’s not going to be the smallest on the road but it’s what we would need at the moment. It looks super comfortable inside and I can imagine how excited the children would be if we set off for a week traveling in it. I also love the fact there’s a built-in sat nav for exploring. When D and E were looking over my shoulder they spotted the bunk bed and both declared it looked ace! I think it uses space well, and the 360 virtual tour gives a superb overview of the vehicle and is great for helping to narrow down your choices.
The Benefit of Bailey of Bristol Caravans
As well as the ability to really explore the caravans and motorhomes via the Virtual Showroom, one of the benefits of Bailey caravans is that they’re constructed using Alu-Tech. At least you know you’ll be warm when you need to be and cool when it’s hot (as rare as those days might be!).
