How to Keep You Home Spick and Span

Collaborative Post

It is easier said than done keeping a house all lush and clean. Over time any house can start looking a little worse for wear. It is important that we develop cleaning routines that help us stay on top of it. If you have not given the home a thorough deep clean for a while, then you may need to spend a few days getting it up to scratch. But once you’re there, it is a simple maintenance job. So., let’s discover some easy you can keep your home spick and span.

Repairs

A home need repairs. If you have a lot of things on that repair to-do list, now is the time to do it. Some of the things may require drilling, sawing and more, and this causes a mess to clean up. Some things that need repairs have to be done to avoid damage to the home. Leaks, wobbly radiators, drawers hanging off, etc., can all cause worse damage if left. So, get that pen and paper and create a repair list and start fixing issues.

Paint

If you have had any water damage to the walls, or just run-of-the-mill spillages, stains, and more, then you should just paint over them. Paint can transform a room and make it look much cleaner and neater. So, if a nice clean home is the name of the game, then why not try a lick of paint and cover up those blemishes?

Declutter

It is essential that you declutter your home to make it spick and span. Clutter looks awful. It can overfill all the drawers, cupboards, and wardrobes, it causes things to accumulate on the sides, and it can even begin covering the floor. So, you need to be ruthless and get rid of as much as you can. You may even be able to sell some of the useless items you’ve got on. If it doesn’t hold value in your life, get rid of it. It may be great for someone else but not for you.

The Right Equipment

It helps if you are cleaning your home and all the items you possess with the right cleaning equipment. When it comes to general cleaning you need to read the bottle. Sometimes a cleaning sprat would be brilliant for your kitchen sides but terrible news for your flooring and vice versa. Do not assume one thing fits all. If you have tough mould, you may need a great mould-killing spray, but ensure the kids aren’t about when you use it. So, read the bottle, find out how long things have to soak for and get going. Other things include the vacuum cleaner. If your home is one with a lot of pets, then you are going to need a more heavy-duty vacuum, one that is hypoallergenic, for example. You may need a pressure washer for the patio and a steam cleaning for the carpet and curtains. If you have a pool, you need the right pool maintenance cleaning gear. So, make sure you have the right tools for the job.
