Five Changes to Make in 2020

Ad

I know it’s only the end of January but my word, this year seems to be zooming by! I always like to think of new things to try each year, and 2020 is no exception. Here are five new hobbies to take up in 2020

Get active

The new year is always the time of year when people think about over-hauling their fitness regime. You don’t need to head out to find a gym! There are plenty of ways to get active in 2020. You could join a gym or you could commit to going on a regular walk or challenge yourself with a sponsored run or bike ride. Whatever you do, treating yourself to a new item of clothing as you hit your targets can be an added motivator. I found a new pair of running shoes or perhaps a new cycling jersey (like these here now) make for a nice treat when reaching those fitness targets.

Get Creative

Learn a new craft – learn to sew or crochet. I’ve set myself a target to cross-stitch an item for E’s birthday (although I am rapidly running out of time to finish it!). Learning a creative skill such as needlework or drawing can be a good outlet for stresses and strains in life. I find when I’m working on something creative I don’t have much time to think about other things.

Learn a new Skill

Is there something you’ve always wanted to learn about? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to learn how to really use your camera properly or perhaps you want to learn a musical instrument. You might want to develop your knowledge in online technologies and learn coding or perhaps more about other online technologies such as those provided by www.ignitedigital.com.

There’s an additional benefit to learning new skills such as these as they give you other employment options and look good on a CV.

Volunteer in your local community

Volunteering can be immensely rewarding and there is all manner of groups looking for volunteers. There’s often charity shops or church-based groups that often seek volunteers, or perhaps look to be matched with an older person who is looking for support and company.

Your local animal shelter might need help in terms of collecting donations or walking dogs or simply going in and keeping the animals’ company.

Volunteering is also a great way of adding to your skillset and perhaps finding areas of work you might not have otherwise considered. Thinking of working with children? Then look to see if your local Scouting group can use volunteers. Looking to get into healthcare – how about checking out opportunities to visit patients in hospital or at local care home.

Take on a Whole New Direction

The start of a new year is a good time to assess where you want to be in life. If you’ve dreamed of doing something different with your life then do it! Always wanted to travel then set yourself some targets for saving the necessary funds. Want to change your job? Look at what you’d like to do and work towards any required qualifications and experience.

If you’ve harboured a dream no matter how big or small then take steps to make it happen. If you’re a Barista who has always dreamed of running their own shop then do it –  browse AnthonysEspresso.com and you’ll be able to get an idea of equipment prices and start to pull that business plan together.

The start of a new year is a great time to re-assess where you are and where you want to be.
