Going on holiday is a wonderful family experience and is definitely something you should do if you have the means. There is just something special about stepping outside of your normal day-to-day family activities and experiencing something completely new together. It is a great way to bond and make new memories that will last a lifetime.
Despite there being loads of destinations that would be wonderful to see, there are some nice family-friendly places that stand out.
Sicily
In Sicily, you can enjoy all that the Sicilian culture, land and sea have to offer while packing in outdoor activities such as visiting the active volcano, Mount Etna, seeing the Valley of the Temples and other UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and grabbing a gelato and strolling around the picturesque towns. The island is surprisingly affordable, and this even applies to accommodation. On websites like Wishsicily for example, there are many cost-effective gorgeous villa rentals in Sicily, which is an especially wonderful option for families. Villas can be even more cost-effective than separate rooms elsewhere, plus they give you privacy and space.
Sardinia
Sardinia is a great destination famous for its white beaches and crystal clear water. It is great for adults and children, as you can explore, build sand castles and wade into the shallow waters as far as you would like to go. It gives you the landscape and the space to explore and have fun, while also giving parents a bit more peace of mind when it comes to safety.
Cyprus
Cyprus is a winner for families with its big beach resorts, waterparks, and traditional towns. This way, you can experience traditional Cyprus, with all its colourful mosaics and history and have plenty to do while there.
Greece
The country of Greece is full of history, beautiful landscapes, beaches and activities. Plus the food, especially seafood is fresh and everyone can find something they love here. The Greek culture is also well known for being wonderfully hospitable, which makes it more comfortable while out and exploring especially with kids.
Canary Islands
The Canary Islands, consisting of seven main islands off the coast of northwestern Africa, is full of family-friendly beach resorts that draw millions of visitors every year. If you are in Tenerife for example, you can visit Siam Park, a large water park, Loro Parque, Corralejo Dunes, and Timanfaya National Park just to name a few!
Now that we have gone over a few ideas of where to go, I have to say it is just as important to consider how to enjoy the holiday to the fullest and keep everyone happy. After all, just because you are in a beautiful place doesn’t mean that everything is automatically guaranteed to go smoothly. Travelling can be stressful, for and with little ones especially, so a bit of preparation can go a long way.
Here are some tips:

Get your documents in order. Have a paper and a digital copy of your documents, including details for your travel, accommodation, insurance, passport, tours you booked, etc.

Set up your entertainment before you go. Download movies, books and other and entertainment while you are on Wi-Fi so that you can access it all when offline.

Prepare and pack healthy snacks. I think we can all agree that a hungry kid is generally not the happiest of kids. Healthy snacks are definitely worth packing, both for your travels to your destination as well as for your days out while you are there. Fresh fruit and sliced vegetables, as well as healthy pre-made oatmeal bars are great options.

Pack miscellaneous necessities. You know those things that you catch yourself wishing you had on a day-to-day basis? Wet wipes, earplugs, an extra pair of clothes (or two), packable activities, etc. are items to definitely be packed, even if they are miscellaneous. After all, these are the items that you don’t know you need until you really need them.
Travelling with kids is perfectly doable.. it just takes a little extra preparation! It is something to look forward to, not something to deter you from experiencing family time on holiday.
