I recently finished the Moonlight Hare cross stitch kit from Emma Louise Art Stitch Designs and thought I’d share a little here for those who haven’t come across Emma’s designs before.
About Emma Louise
Emma Louise Art Stitch is a business based in Cornwall where she designs and produces the kit herself. A lot of the kits have a Cornish theme and most, if not all, have a nature theme. When I saw the Moonlight Hare kit I fell in love and ordered it.
What’s in the Kit?
I opted for the Mooonlight Hare kit that included the green nurge hoop and scissors. The kit itself included Aida, two charts; one to show the cross stitch and another to show the backstitch, instructions and pre-sorted anchor cotton threads.
The pattern is really clear and I like that there is a separate one for the backstitch – this really helps me as I hate doing the backstitch but it’s the backstitch that really brings this design to life.
Stitching the Kit
This is a lovely kit to do and it makes use of a range of colours to complete the project. Black is worked in three strands and everything else in two. There’s some blending of colours to create the colour changes. It’s a really good beginner project and is only around 5 x 5 inches so isn’t too big and overwhelming.
I’m usually a DMC girl so using Anchor is new to me but I enjoyed stitching with these threads and there is a generous supply so you definitely won’t run out of any!

Finished
This is a really effective and lovely pattern when done and I’m looking forward to finishing this in a frame. I’ve not yet found the right frame for it but I’ll keep looking and find one soon I hope. There’s also the moonlight cat kit that I have my eye on and you can buy a bundle of both the hare and the cat together.
