WIN Captain America with The Toy Scavenger

WIN Captain America with The Toy Scavenger

One night last week I was browsing through my twitter timeline, and I came across tweets for a website called the Toy Scavenger. Being a bit nosey I thought I would take a look around.

They are quite a new company and they specialise in new and used vintage action figures. The website is a treasure trove with so many collectable action figures on there – it was great to spent 15-20 minutes looking at all the items they have. As an 80’s child I instantly recognised so many of the items that my brother and I used to play with when were younger, including Star Wars, spiderman and Batman figures.

These sorts of figures are, from the looks of the site, highly collectable and I know I’m pretty lucky that my parents have kept so many of our toys from when were small. Already we have been able to pass some of these toys on to Emma and Daniel, including a rather hideous fisher price jack in the box that I keep accidentally packing away. I really should take a look at how much some of these things are worth – although I suspect my boxed Take That dolls won’t be worth too much now! I know however in the loft there will be Star Wars and Batman figures.

The Toy Scavenger website really is worth a quick look if you fancy a stroll down memory lane – there’s some really interesting things on there, and you might even pick up a little idea for Christmas for a loved one to remind them of their own childhood – beats the usual gift aisles in the supermarkets and would certainly be a great talking point Christmas morning. They would also be a quirky gift for a newborn – a classic toy from their parents era, perhaps an old favourite?

The Toy ScavengerI had a chat with the Toy Scavenger via twitter and they have agreed to offer my readers the chance to win one of their fab figures. To be in with a chance of winning a Marvel Legends 2012 Captain america (complete with shield) then please complete the rafflecopter below.

The competition will end on 12 December with the winner selected on 13th December. The competition is open to UK residents only and the winner will be contacted by email. If the winner does not claim their prize within 14 days the competition will be re-drawn.

My doll that I got from Santa when I was 3, she had brown soft hair, eye lashes, turned her head from side to side when her arm was pressed and she smelled of vanilla, pretty high tech back in early 80’s 😀
