I am always looking for ways to make the house a bit prettier in the run up to Christmas so when LED hut asked me if I would like to review some of their Christmas lights I jumped at the chance.
I am a bit boring, I have to admit, with Christmas lights. As I have mentioned before, our decorations tend to go up quite late due to my birthday being mid-December. However I think once Daniel and Emma become much more aware of things then I might have to compromise and put some things up a little earlier, so light like these are a bit of a compromise.
I had a good look at the selection of lights on offer and decided I would like some branch lights. I have had some similar ones in the past (that were damaged during a house move) and really liked them and wanted to see how these were in comparison.
When they arrived they were a little smaller than I had first thought, partly my own fault as I hadn’t properly read the description (yes I had just looked at the image and loved them!). They are 60cm in height and each of the branches is moveable (I think they’re metal underneath the decorative white). There are ten ‘pods’ attached to the branches and each of the pods has two fairy lights inside so they are actually really quite a strong but subtle light when they are turned on. Much brighter than standard fairy lights, but still a lovely gentle glow.
They are battery powered which is brilliant as it means they can be popped into a vase or into a flower pot without the need to have a plug socket nearby. It uses three AA batteries and these are included too.
What I particularly like about these branch lights is that they are suitable for all year round. There is nothing quite like a gentle glow in the dark winter evenings and these really are lovely – so much so that I am very tempted to get another one or two to add to my dining room and the windowsill at the top of the stairs.
They are good quality and at £9.99 I think they are excellent value. They also fit well with our older style house, despite being quite a contemporary design. As they’re quite decorative they also look great in the daytime too. I like to have daffodils and flowers in the vases over the summer but I find they die too quickly in the autumn and winter as our woodburner is used, so these are lovely to fill that gap.
LED hut offer a 30 day money back guarantee on all their orders as well as next day delivery and free postage on orders over £50. I really can’t recommend their products highly enough and the website is worth a look if you’re thinking of updating your Christmas lights this year.
