Summer Clothes for Emma

Summer Clothes for Emma

Last year summer seemed to pass me by, I was sleep deprived and was in that in-between stage of post pregnancy and getting to a more stable stage of weight etc. I didn’t treat myself to many new summer clothes, other than a few pairs of cropped trousers.

Emma also spent her first summer in baby-gros and the such – I’m not a fan of dressing newborns and very young babies in fussy clothing. This time around, however I can have more of a think about what Emma will be wearing this summer.

Daniel is really easy to dress – shorts and t-shirt and he is happy! I find girls clothing really difficult! I don’t like the children having their shoulders exposed in the summer sun, and annoyingly many of the girls’ summer clothing tends to follow this trend at the moment. The look is a bit ruined with a best top sticking out underneath!

I am also a bit fussy as I don’t really get the whole Cath Kidston style of florals etc, much preferring bright and bold colours and prints.

House of Fraser thankfully have some fab choices for girls’ clothes for the summer and I’ve picked out three of my favourites.

The red and white stripey one is a lovely bold colour way and is from Petit Bateau. I love this and it is 100% cotton too so should wash well.

The second one is a cute and quirky dress from Toby Tiger – I love the sausage dog print which continues around the back of the dress. There’s a whole series of dresses from Toby Tiger and I am sure Emma will own one of these at some point in the future as they are so colourful.

The final dress is from Kite and the perfect set of summer colours, lovely and girly without being bright pink. I would quite like a dress like this for myself!

What will you be dressing your little ones in over the summer?

They’re lovely Sarah. I love how you dress little Em. She is trendy, I think you’re clever finding stuff that isn’t seen on every child in playgroup. You never know, she might just keep that dress clean for half an hour. I love the outfit she was wearing yesterday at Beckys.
