Each week I am planning to share what we have been up to, the miles I’ve managed to tick off on my run challenges as well as the books I have read.
So, to kick off week 1 of 2019:
What I have read
This week I have finished off Sunshine at the Comfort Food Cafe by Debbie Johnson – a book I picked up in the library and have since realised I actually own the Kindle version of! It’s a really easy, fun read, and I really like the Comfort Food Cafe books – I think I’ve read three of them now. They’re easy to read, fun books and perfect for curling up in bed with. I’ve now started the American Wife which was a birthday gift and picked up two other books from the library yesterday. I generally have three or four books on the go at any one time!

Where we have been
This week we have been to the park (twice) once for my Park Run on New Years Day and again a few days later to have a stomp in the stream. We have also been to Etherow Country Park, one of my favourite places and the children enjoyed feeding the ducks there and having a good walk around.
We have been to the library this week and changed our Christmas books for new ones so we have a fresh stack of books to work through which is always fun.
We also have a family meal out this weekend to mark my Dad’s 60th Birthday which will be a nice end to the week.
What we have watched
We have finished off the latest Line of Duty series which is currently on Netflix and have just started on Narcos : Mexico. We tend to watch more TV in the winter so we like to rattle through a few boxsets on Netflix – any recommendations please let me know!
So far this week I have managed 10 miles – some outside and some indoors on the treadmill. I did the New Years Day Parkrun which was a good way to get the Race at your Pace Challenge started. I’ve set myself a challenge of completing 50 miles so fingers crossed I make it; I’ve already made a good start I think.
