In just over two weeks time, Mr H turns one. I have said it so many times, but time really does go by quickly. It only seems like last week I was moaning about being uncomfortable and hoping the weather would cool down to give me some respite. Yet fast forward 50 weeks and we are on the cusp of him turning one.
Of course, being the third one to turn one in 4.5 years means that we have pretty much exhausted the birthday gifts. Blogging means that we are super lucky to be gifted a huge range of items across the year and Mr H has been lucky enough to recieve a smarTrike and we have been enjoying that a lot. It would definitely make a great first birthday gift.
So, as well as that, my top six fab first birthday gift ideas are:
It really does make a difference buying quality items – think long term. Children develop and go through things so quickly that it is VERY easy to end up with lots of ‘stuff’. The things that we have bought for Mr H are things that will last as he gets older and bring many years of enjoyment for him and his siblings.
We have bought this lovely Lanka Kade farmers field from Babipur. We have also bought a few more animals to go with it, including ducks, pigs and sheep. We already have a couple of Lanka Kade animals and they really are excellent value. They are really chunky and a really good size.
Mr D and Miss E have also chosen some animals for Mr H – they’ve opted for a lion and a crocodile (Miss E’s choices) and a monkey and a giraffe (Mr D’s choices). I can see some jungle type adventures taking place!
In addition to the Lanka Kade items we have bought him two Holztiger figures. The Holztiger figures are a little bit more expensive than the Lanke Kade figures but they are so beautiful. We have bought the highland cattle and a grazing cow. The Holztiger figures are really beautiful and I think these might be gifts that Mr D and Miss E might get too this year. I wish we had discovered these earlier.
Construction toys have always proved popular here and Duplo is a real winner. Mr H likes using the ones we have at the moment to move from container to container and his older siblings like to build various structures with them. Duplo really is a wonderful open ended toy that has so many applications and uses and your children will amaze you with the creativity that follows when presented with Duplo.
Another gift that always goes down well here are clothes – children have a habit of growing and growing quickly! Clothes are always well recieved and pyjamas are always good and I know that most of the pyjamas the children own are ones that have bene bought for them!
Another fab first birthday gift is a toddle bike – especially if like Mr H, you have a birthday that falls halfway to Christmas. He ism’t quite ready for the toddle bike yet, but it is likely he will be before Christmas time, so we wanted to give this to him now so we don’t miss the right time for him to use it. The toddle bike is super light and is perfect as soon as your little one can walk.
And, finally, if you’re really struggling to think of something then you could choose a Birthday Box from Yes BeBe. These look pretty good and you can provide a range of information to tailor the box and can set a budget from £20 – £100 – guaranteed to get something fun I am sure.
I can’t wait to see Mr H’s face on his birthday and see how he enjoys his gifts. I am sure the things we have chosen for him will be well loved and played with.
