I will start with the favourite – that’s not my owl! We are big fans of the that’s not my series from Usborne, and Emma in particular loves these. It is a brilliant touchy feely book with lots of different textures to feel and Daniel enjoys reading this to Emma.
We have a few of these ‘that’s not my…’ books and this one is a firm fave for Emma. Prior to this is was that’s not my tiger but the Owl one is picked up first, and Daniel likes this too (he hasn’t been as engaged with the touchy feely books as Emma has).
The second book, Kiss, is part of the My little World series from Little Tiger press. These are really sturdy board books with lovely bold colours. The title of this one is a little strange and hasn’t massively capture Daniel’s attention as much as some others in the series. It is called Kiss, but nowhere is the book makes reference to a kiss. It is however a nice rhyming book and has a nice sentiment to it. It has a heart cut out running throughout the book and Emma likes to turn the pages using the cut outs.
The third and final book we were sent is Lots of Rabbits to Spot. This is one that has really appealed to Daniel. He is a bit Peter Rabbit mad at the moment and so he loves all things rabbit! This is a lovely book and is great for having a conversation with your child. The pages are filled with lots of things to look at and talk about and I know that Daniel and I will use this lots over the coming months. There are also some stickers and puzzle pages in the book too. I think it is great value for toddlers and perfect for developing language and observational skills.
