For the final five books of 2016 I wanted to share my five books to read at Christmas. If your children are anything like mine then you’ll be reading Christmas books after Christmas books after Christmas books at the moment.
If you would like to take part in my five books series in 2017 then simply select your topic and email your post to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
So… my five festive reads are:
The Great Reindeer Rebellion – I bought this last year and the children LOVE this book. It is really good fun and each page has so much to look at. This year the children have noticed lots of new detail in the pages this year.
Father Christmas Needs a Wee My grandparents bought this for Mr D a few years back and it is a much loved book. It sees Father Christmas heading to houses and at each house he has a drink… which means he needs a wee! It’s a lovely rhyming counting book and one I can see us reading for many years yet.
Nativity Flap Book – this is a book I bought when Mr D turned one, it’s a lovely book that tells the Christmas story. This book holds a special place in my heart as both the children think Mary and Joseph as illustrated in the book are Damian and I!
A Letter for Bear is a beautiful book that both Mr D and Miss E adore. We have read it so many times and it is just stunning. It is beautifully illustrated and tells a great story of the spirit of Christmas. There is a full review here.
My final choice is Reindeer’s Christmas Party. This is a fabulous pop up book and one that I love reading to the children. All three children adore this book and it’s been perfect for reading to all three children.
What are your favourite Christmas books? And do remember to get in touch if you would like to share your own five books in 2017. Any subject welcome.
