For those that know me ‘in real life’ they will be a little surprised that at this early stage I am talking about the Christmas Boutique! Having a December birthday means that out tree and decorations go up around 10 days before the big day. However, when the Christmas Boutique offered to send me a package of decorations to review I couldn’t say no after I had taken a quick look at their website and saw the lovely things on offer.
This year Daniel will be much more aware of things so we unpacked the box together. I didn’t know what I was being sent, but I was really surprised with the variety of things that arrived.
Daniel immediately went straight for this lovely fluffy brown reindeer. He is very cute and will become one for Daniel and Emma to share I think in the lead up to Christmas. The fur is lovely and soft and I like the cute addition of a little white scarf.
My favourite item that was included in the package are these wooden blocks spelling out Christmas. They’re 6cm tall each and are fab – these will have pride of place across our mantlepiece come Christmas time. They’re excellent value at £8.99 and look really lovely. These will be used for many years to come.
I wasn’t overly keen on the two holiday Father Christmas items. They’re just not really to my taste. They’re also quite heavy so I am not sure they would stay on a tree – certainly not my tree with two inquisitive children.
I did though quite like these honeycomb Christmas trees. Quite a simple idea but lovely and effective. I think they would look fab as a table decoration. . These also come in grey and black. I think a mixture of the colours would look lovely. They are also designed to be hung up so plenty of options for how they could be displayed.
This Christmas stocking is very cute – and has given me a bit of inspiration to make one for Daniel and one for Emma at some point. It will look lovely at the end of the fireplace. I think it probably a little on the more expensive end of things at £12.99 but it is lovely. I think this large santa sack is a better choice – I plan to stuff this and leave it under the tree, ready for Father Christmas to leave his gifts. I might pop a little book in their for Daniel and Emma to open Christmas eve too as a little treat.
We haven’t really thought about Advent calendars yet for the children – I think that will probably come next year. This hanging angel advent calendar is a nice alternative. It isn’t particularly to my tastes – I prefer much more colourful items, but it is a lovely item and really quite big. The pockets are nice to hide little gifts in for each day; maybe a new figure to add to the nativity or a little idea of something to do that day (such as bake mince pies or make Christmas cards).
The final item in our box of goodies were these mini read heart shaped baubles. I think I will put these into a vase as a little decorative addition to the christmas table as they are likely to get lost on our tree as they’re a little on the small side.
I have to say I was really impressed with the range of items we were sent – a really wide range of things which I think reflects that there will be something for all tastes on the website. I will be taking a look at the site in the coming weeks to maybe add a few more things to our Christmas decorations stash.
