I think it is a fair to say that I am a rather big fan of the grown up colouring craze that seems to show no signs of abating. I was thrilled when I was recently sent two lovely colouring books, once from Buster Books and another from Tate Publishing.
The Tate publishing one is lovely and is quite different to the others I have in my collection. The book is slightly smaller than A3 size and each page takes a collection of items.
The 100 colouring Book is packed with hundreds of things to colour in, decorate etc. There are 100 buildings, 100 things to eat, 100 objects amongst many other things. All the objects are different and with a little imagination there is a lot you can do to bring them to life. I also really liked the final page – it gives you a list of things to go searching for in the book. I’m still working on finding a few of the things!
Dominika Lipniewska and the team at Tate have produced a lovely book that I can’t wait to get stuck into properly with the children. Daniel is starting to exhibit some better pencil control so this will be a book that (as long as I don’t colour it all in myself!) we can spread out across the table and hunt for things to colour in together.
The second book, The Map Colouring Book from Buster Books is a poster sized book and it reminds me very much of one of my fave books – Atlas of Adventures. There are plenty of pages covering the world and you can spot lots of facts as you work your way around each page.
I love this book as it’s a great educational tool as well as being lots of fun. I loved looking at the Australia page as it reminded me of our honeymoon there many years ago and I know it will be a great one to sit down and colour in with the children as we share our pictures with them.
I love how bright and bold the pages are and the fact that they can be pulled out and displayed – they’d be great for any topic based learning I am sure.
I am thrilled that the team at Buster Books are offering one of my readers the chance to win their very own copy of The Map Colouring Book. To be in with a chance to win just complete the Rafflecopter entry below.
